Can I Print a QR Code on My Product?

Absolutely! Printing a QR code is a great way to connect your product to digital content, like a website, portfolio, or coupon page. However, there are a few important considerations to ensure that the QR code works correctly after printing.

What You Need to Know About QR Code Printing

1. Minimum Size Requirements
To ensure scannability, QR codes should be printed at least 1.5–2 cm x 1.5–2 cm (15–20 mm), depending on the complexity (amount of data). A micro/mini QR code is always recommended.

2. High Contrast Is Key
Always use a dark code on a light background. Reversed or low-contrast codes may not be readable by all smartphone cameras.

3. Vector Format Recommended
Please send your QR code as a vector file (PDF, EPS, or SVG) for the best print result. If you only have a PNG or JPG, it must be high resolution (300 ppi or more).

4. Print Area Limitations
Small items (like pens or USB sticks) may not have enough space for a working QR code. We'll advise if your chosen product is suitable.

5. Printing Techniques Matter
Some print methods work better than others for QR codes:

  • Laser engraving, digital printing → precise and clean

  • Embroidery or screen printing → not suitable for QR codes

6. Test Your Code
Before sending your final artwork, scan the code from your screen and test it. We’ll also run a test before printing.

Tips for a Successful QR Code Print

  • Link to a mobile-optimized webpage.

  • Avoid overly complex designs or logos inside the code unless they’ve been tested.

  • Keep the QR code away from edges or curves since flat surfaces work best.
