VAT Return And Reverse Charge

Modified on Wed, 30 Jul at 1:28 PM

If you're ordering products from Loopper and are located outside the Netherlands but within the EU, you may be eligible for a reverse charge (0% VAT) based on your valid VAT number.

Add Your VAT Number Early

When you receive an offer, you'll be asked to fill in your contact and billing details. Here you can already enter your VAT number.

If the number is valid and registered for intra-community trade, the system will automatically remove VAT from your invoice.

  • The check happens in real time via the official VIES system (European Commission)

  • If your number is invalid or missing, VAT will be charged

What If You Forgot to Enter Your VAT Number?

No worries! If you missed adding your VAT number in the offer, and already received an invoice with VAT included, you can still request a correction.

Please submit a VAT return request using our dedicated ticket form:

  1. Select “VAT return” from the contact dropdown

  2. Enter your email, project number and valid VAT number

  3. Provide a short explanation in the description field (optional)

When Will the Invoice Be Updated?

Once verified, we’ll reissue the invoice without VAT and refund the VAT amount if already paid. Processing typically takes 1–2 business days.

Important Notes

  • Reverse charge only applies for B2B EU clients with a valid VAT number outside NL

  • It must be claimed before fiscal reporting deadlines – ideally within the same month

  • Loopper cannot retroactively apply 0% VAT without proper documentation

Questions?

If you're unsure whether you're eligible or how to proceed, our support team will gladly help you. Simply submit a request via the form or contact your account manager.
